Congress did what BJP could not do

BJP and other opposition parties have been mischievously saying that the ruling class failed to address the serious issue of corruption. First of all it is too general a statement deliberately spread by BJP to malign the ruling party. The fact is that a Lokpal Bill has already been introduced in the Parliament and being actively pursued. Yes there was delay but on whose part? It is a proverbial that guilty points figure at others. This is true for BJP and others like them. One may ask where several members of esteemed civil society were in those six years from 1998 to 2004? Why nobody initiated a move for Lokpal? Congress may be imperfect but it is trying to pass the Lokpal Bill and it has focused on the best Bill which is a balanced Bill and not what happened in the last 40 years. Therefore Congress rightly deserve credit for bring Lokpal Bill. BJP which only talks did nothing, absolutely nothing, during their tenure of six years from 1998 to 2004.
