Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, MP from Uttar Pradesh has always stood up with the people of the Uttar Pradesh against the unjust policies of Mayawati government. Central government has been sending number of welfare schemes with entire funds for them for the welfare of the people and development of the state of Uttar Pradesh. National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) is one of such schemes. It is meant to improve rural health services in the state by dotting the region with sate-of-the-art poly clinics for poor people. But the funds for this welfare scheme have not reached the rural people. Instead the funds were siphoned off by corrupt officials in connivance with ministers of Mayawati government and the legislators. UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi even filed RTI in the presence of Rahul Gandhi to get details of funds spent to the scheme. Ultimately, High Court has recently ordered CBI inquiry into the financial irregularities committed by Mayawati government in implementation of NRHM scheme, said Congress (I).
