Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi blamed Mayawati government for siphoning off central government funds which were sent to Uttar Pradesh for spending on people’s welfare and undertaking development in the state. Congress (I) General Secretary while on five days public contact program in UP, recently said that there is no shortage of funds with the Central government. Funds have been made available to the UP government but the problem is that the money does not reach the people for whom it is meant, said Rahul Gandhi. Corrupt officials with conspiracy with ministers, legislators and contractors siphon off the people’s money. As a result development is not taking place and the plight of the people is going from bad to worse. This pernicious trend can be reversed if Congress (I) in brought back to power. Then both Congress (I) governments at the centre and state will work in tandem to put Uttar Pradesh on fast track of development, said Rahul Gandhi.
