Congress (I) has accused Mayawati government for putting up excuses like lack of funds for absence of development in Uttar Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi recently said funds have never been a problem for undertaking development works in UP. On the contrary Congress (I)-led UPA government has provided maximum funds to the state. But it was corrupt Mayawati government which did not undertake development in the state. Even whereever any project was started it never took off the ground. For instance in a case foundation of a school was laid but construction of class rooms remained pending indefinitely. Similarly where construction was completed teachers and staff to run the school were not provided. Congress (I) said Mayawati is responsible for all this. She has given more attention to amassing wealth for self and her party than administering the state in fair and just manner. Congress (I) has asked else where did those huge funds sent by Centre for development of Uttar Pradesh vanish?
