Rahul Gandhi: Land between Noida to Gorakhpur being snatched from farmers

With a power start to the much awaited poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh, the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi has revealed the real face of the Mayawati government, speaking at the Phulpur rally on the sufferings of farmers especially those at Bhatta-Parsaul.

“Over 2000 km of land between Noida to Gorakhpur is being snatched from the farmers. Who are being given the lands? They are being given to the rich builders. The amount of money the farmers should get against the lands is not being given to them, said the young MP from Amethi.

The Youth Congress icon seemed quite angry over the plight of farmers in the state and the disturbing and unfortunate law and order situation at the aftermath of farmers’ agitation in Bhatta-Parsaul.

Rahul was addressing the people who turned up at the much awaited Phulpur rally which marked the start of electoral campaign for the 2012 Assembly election in UP. Along with the farmers’ issue he spoke of the other downtrodden people of the state.
