Rahul Gandhi: UP - You can’t keep common man out of development

Blaming Chief Minister Mayawati for absence of development in Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said Mayawati has had no connection with the common people of the state. She does not know what the needs of the people are. Therefore the requirement of transition – a two way process – from need to development has not struck the mind of Mayawati government at all. Congress (I) leader said, “I am in politics for the past seven years and I visited many places in U.P. Experience taught me that unless a leader goes to the people, he cannot understand the problems of the common man. Unless you drink the water from a poor man’s home and get sick, you will not realize the real hardship of a common man”. “Till we include the common man in the process of development, we cannot progress” said the Congress General Secretary. Rahul Gandhi is spearheading the Congress campaign in U.P for the upcoming assembly polls.
