Rahul Gandhi succeeds in reviving Congress (I) in UP

Having covered the entire length and breadth of the state by taking up the people’s issues such as why there is rampant corruption in the state, why the problems of the people are not being addressed, why there is no development in the state despite BSP, SP and BJP ruling the state over the last twenty two years, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has put these parties on the back foot. Unable to explain their position on these public issues these parties are now again spinning out new set of promises to seduce the people to vote for them. All along these parties have been indulging in vote bank politics. For Mayawati dalits, for Mulayam Singh Yadav OBC/ Muslims and for BJP’s high castes and Brahmins were their vote banks whom they used as ladder to grab power and worked only for that group comprising 10% of the entire population thus leaving out the rest 90% of the people of the state. But with the forceful re-entry of Congress (I) in UP politics under the command of Rahul Gandhi the game is no more 10% versus 90%. It is no more caste and religion based vote bank politics. Rahul Gandhi by his relentless efforts has brought home to the people that they need is good government which works for entire people not just for 10%. After all there cannot be comprehensive development if 90% of the people are left out of it. Rahul Gandhi has made people realize that BSP, SP and BJP were ruling the state during the last 22 years yet they provided neither good governance nor development. Whereas although Congress (I) was not in power in UP, it has still done all it could do for UP. Number of schemes and programs with funds in thousands of crore were sent by Congress (I)-led UPA government from the centre for welfare of the people and development of UP. But these party governments swindled the money and the people got nothing. The people are impressed that Rahul Gandhi is neither offering tall promises nor freebies like other parties. He is only promising good governance and fast track development. “Give us a chance this time and we will show what we can do in five years which these parties failed to do in twenty two years,” said Rahul Gandhi. No doubt this has swung the people towards Congress (I) literally due to the single handed efforts of Rahul Gandhi.
