Mayawati should be accountable for her misdeeds and corruption: Congress (I)

Congress feels that Mayawati should be accountable for her misdeeds and rampant corruption in UP. Hitting hard against UP Chief Minister for bad governance and corruption in the state, many Congress (I) leaders are having the opinion that the time has come for Mayawati to account for her omissions and commissions to the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Congress General Secretary while addressing various public rallies in the state had said that people had opted for Mayawati after trusting that she will work for dalits, poor, and sarv samaj, her term for common man. But after the elections Mayawati forgot the people, alleged Rahul Gandhi. Congress leaders also said that Mayawati’s greed for money led to non-transparency in administrative actions. For the same reason she favored real estates companies at the cost of farmers whose lands she forcibly acquired and handed over to private builders, they felt.

Congress also alleged that nstead of encouraging industrial growth in the state which could provide badly needed employment opportunities to people, Mayawati’s policies created conditions that forced industries to close down. Saying that Mayawati government became a trading company for striking business deals, Congress wants Mayawati must be accountable for all her misdeeds.
