Rahul Gandhi: Congress’s Food Security Bill is for the benefit of the poor


Congress is committed to work for the aam aadmi and it is always concerned about their issues said Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in UP. While lasing out at BSP chief Mayawati for denying the people in UP the benefits of various central sponsored welfare schemes, Congress General Secretary has said that Congress-led UPA Government is ready with the Food Security Bill to ensure food to every poor. Rahul Gandhi also said that the strong Lokpal Bill proposed by the Congress is the example of the party’s commitment to put an end to corruption. Slamming Mayawati, Rahul Gandhi said that she is opposing the Food bill which would be beneficial for the poor and Dalits. Rahul Gandhi also declared that although BJP has temporarily blocked the the Lokpal Bill, it is not yet dead. Congress (I) will bring the same again during the Budget session assured the Congress leader. Now people have understood that BJP is the real culprit and it is not serious to tackle corruption, said Rahul Gandhi.  Congress (I) has brought record number of pro-poor welfare schemes like RTI which has empowered people and made the administration authorities accountable to the people, argued the Congress General Secretary. Mahatma Gandhi NREGA is providing guaranteed employment to the poor while NRHM and Janani Saurakha Yojna promise improved health care services, informed Rahul Gandhi. Right to Education (RTE) has given right to education to every child, informed Rahul Gandhi.
