Rahul Gandhi in Badalpur strikes chord with the farmers and workers

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while addressing a huge Congress rally in Badalpur as part of his Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh said, “The Congress gave MNREGA, loan wavier scheme for farmers, weavers package, Bundelkhand package and now ready with the food security bill under which every poor family will get 35 kg of food grain every month.” Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress had given reservation to women in panchayats in order to empower them and to ensure their participation in main stream politics.

Rahul Gandhi told farmers that they work hard in their fields but get bullets in return under Mayawati rule. “You should not clap but the country should clap for you. I will clap for you,” said Rahul Gandhi and clapped his hands.

The Congress leader further said that a woman had told him that her land had been acquired for some builders without her consent and was immediately asked to vacate the land. When she requested the cops that she should be allowed to reap the harvest, the police set fire to the crops.

Rahul Gandhi also said that the BJP had undertaken rath yatra against corruption but when Mayawati ousted the most corrupt minister from her cabinet, the BJP inducted him into the party.
