Rahul Gandhi talks about the commitment of Congress towards Muslims

Congress General Secretary RahulGandhi while campaigning for the Assembly election in UP said that Congress (I) is very much bothered about the issues of the Muslim community. There are socio-economic issues, Congress realises. “Education is another important issue. When Congress (I)-led UPA government came to power at Centre it appointed Sachhar Committee to recommend measures for socio-economic improvement of Muslim community,” informed Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi also claimed that the recommendations of the Sachhar Committee have been implemented in Congress (I) ruled states. He blamed that Mayawati did not not implement it in UP.  Congress (I)-led government has recently announced reservations for them in government and educational institutions, said Rahul Gandhi.  Rahul Gandhi also talked about the loan-waiver schemes for the farmers as well as the relief package for the weavers who mostly belong to the minority community. It was Congress (I) which took initiative and approved a special relief package for supporting the Bunkars, said Rahul Gandhi.
