Life does not stop, neither does work for the nation: Sonia Gandhi

On her first day of her two-day trip to her constituency Rae Bareli, Congress President and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi apologized to the people of Raebareli for not being able to come amongst them due to personal reasons. She announced a number of development projects for the region.

"Zindagi ka silsila nahin rukta hai, nahin deshLink ke liye kaam karne ka"(Life does not stop, neither does work for the nation)," said Sonia Gandhi. The UPA chairperson also said that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had brought out many schemes for the welfare of the poor and development of the country.

Sonia Gandhi reiterated that education is the key to bright future and development. The Congress MP also announced that a Girl’s degree college would soon be set up in the name of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Rae Bareilly. “Raebareli was Indira Ji’s karmbhoomi” she recalled.

Apart from the widening of the NH 28 at a cost of Rs.600 crore, Sonia Gandhi also announced a lot of other infrastructural projects for Raebareli including broadening of the railway over bridge at Bachrawan, an over bridge in the city to ease transport and two level crossings at the Kunda bypass.

Union Ministers C.P. Joshi and Jatin Prasad were also present along with Sonia Gandhi.
