Mulayam and his party never fulfilled promises: Congress

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh slammed Samajwadi Party and said that it did not have the majority in Parliament to deliver on the promise by amending the Constitution. "I think Mulayam Singh Yadav must realise that giving 18 per cent reservation means amending the Constitution. Can SP, a regional party, with 21 members in Parliament, amend the Constitution"? Congress General Secretary said.

"He is promising but not delivering anything. It would have been better had he mentioned his achivements as UP chief minister," the Congress leader said. The Congress General Secretary said that he had researched the speeches of Mulayam Singh Yadav but didn't find even a single comment about RSS. "He not only took a person responsible for Babri mosque incident in the alliance but also made his son a minister in his government," alleged the Congress leader.

"When Kalyan's son was being made the minister, Azam Khan had no objection but now he has," the Congress leader added. "Mulayam always keeps a door open for the support of BJP," said the Congress General Secretary.

Congress (I) the best option for the people of Uttar Pradesh

Lashing out at parties like BJP, BSP and SP for having cheated the people, Congress (I) has said the people tried these parties during the last two decades but none fulfilled their expectations. BJP played with the people’s sentiments. Mulayam Singh Yadav played caste politics which benefited only 10% of the people and used musclemen to rough up the rivals. Mayawati’s BSP crossed all limits of corruption. All these parties had no vision for development; as a result the state is stagnating, said Congress (I). While Mulayam Singh Yadav opposed use of English and computers, Mayawati developed only parks. Mayawati stole money of the poor sent by central government for implementing welfare schemes for the poor. Fed up with caste politics of these parties coupled with corruption and backwardness in the state, the people are now realizing that Congress (I) is the only alternative and best option for Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati likes self glorification: Congress (I)

Slamming UP chief minister Mayawati for indulging in self glorification and cheap gimmicks, Congress (I) has said she has not been engaging her attention on the issues of daliits, poor and OBCs. Recently she inaugurated a park in NOIDA built by her government at the cost of Rs 600 crores. Congress (I) has said the pomp and show while inaugurating the memorial at NOIDA was a vulgar display of wasted wealth. The chief minister forgot about the hundreds of poor children dying of encephalitis in Poorvanchal for want of proper health care and medicine, said Congress (I). Similarly while there is rampant unemployment in the state she said MNREGA scheme for providing guaranteed employment to poor would not be beneficial for the state. She has a mistaken perception about her priorities and as a result the state and people of the state under her government have suffered, said Congress (I).
