Latest news - Rahul Gandhi growing political charisma major bottleneck for other parties

LUCKNOW: January 11, 2011. Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has been pursuing his visionary goals for overall development of the nation, without any fear or favour of any kind.
But, his selfless zeal to transform the contours of Indian politics, now, both in its principles and functional approach, has proved to be a major bottleneck for other political outfits, for fast loosing its space to the burgeoning youth of this country.
Unable to get rid of traditional inertia and unwilling to adopt to changing times, these political parties and their frontal organizations have resorted to hooliganism of the worst kind, that not to allow the, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to initiate a much-needed facelift for the Indian politics.

“If we can not do, let him also not to do at all costs is what has been the most guiding force for many students’ wings of parties like BSP, SP, BJP and the left outfits.

This became quite evident when groups of students from these frontal organizations of these parties resorted to hooliganism on Monday in Varanasi and then again, in Allahabad and later in Lucknow on Tuesday, to forcibly spoil and stall Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s peaceful dialogues with students and youth in these cities.

Surprisingly, in a democratic set-up, fundamental right of peaceful interaction for a good cause was murdered by those, not keen for any transformation in dormant politics which grossly fail to match genuine aspirations of vast population of this country.

However, for Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, it has led to a fact that his good intentions have become too ‘dangerous’ for many others in other political parties, fearing nothing sort of getting ‘self demolished’ in due course, with only option left of political ‘harakiri’

Whatever took place on Monday and Tuesday during his two-day tour of various districts in UP for interacting with students and youth, needs an elaborate backgrounder about his vision for the nation and why other political parties being uncomfortable and bent upon to hinder his noble march.

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has been crystal clear on the need of opening the doors of politics for sincere and dedicated people, for nation’s overall development.

He says, "To ensure free and fair process with no space for any kind of discrimination, we have introduced a system, so that those keen to join politics and have clean backgrounds, get inducted in party’s frontal organizations, National Students Union of India (NSUI) and Youth Congress (YC)".
"We have opened the doors of both NSUI and YC, for all those keen to enter politics and have no criminal past. Also, by doing so, we are providing an opportunity to all those who are having no connections or friends in political corridors, which till recently has been the major factor for entry," elaborates Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Delving further on the system for the process to strengthen the organizational structures of both NSUI and YC, he says that an NGO has been formed which is being managed by former election commissioner J.M. Lyngdoh and K J Rao.

Only after due certification from these two former election commissioners about candidature, a person is allowed to contest the organizational election of NSUI and YC, he says.
Citing the case of Tamil Nadu, he says before membership drive there were only about 30,000 to 40,000 members of YC in the state and now, the same has gone up to around 15 lakhs.

"For the past two years, we are in the process of introducing a system for free and fair elections for our frontal organizations, NSUI and YC. It has been a complex exercise, as we have experienced in Punjab, Gujarat, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. But, we have put forward our best efforts to eliminate those flaws, to ensure free and fair process of induction of members into these two frontal outfits of our party," says Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who remarks no other political parties are doing so.
Every five years, we have elections in the country but no political parties, have any elections for their respective organizational set-ups, he says, adding that only NSUI and YC of the Congress conduct free and fair organizational elections.
Now, all these appear to be too ‘democratic’ and highly ‘unacceptable’ for other political parties, to even think of, largely because for majority among them it would be a sort of ‘self defeat’ and also, sort of death-blow to their so far ‘undeserving’ political status.

It was precisely because of this, they could not digest the ever-increasing popularity of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi among all classes of the society and they (from other parties) feared their ouster from political arena, sooner than later.

Hence, it is understandable the anguish of members of frontal organizations of BSP, SP, BJP and Left parties but not knowing that people at large, too, are witnesses and know who is for what, in the interest of the nation.

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on the concluding day of his two-day tour of UP on Tuesday, interacted with students at Ravindralaya in Lucknow and among other things, also exchanged views on the inflation and corruption in the country. Earlier on Monday, he had interacted with students of BHU in Varanasi and Allahabad and urged them to join politics, for changing the political ambience of the country for better.

At Jhansi and Agra later on Tuesday, he interacted with students and youth there and had an open discourse ranging from politics to day-to-day problems of common man in the society.
