Congress General Secretary Shri Rahul Gandhi while addressing a number of rallies in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh said that for the past two decades, the misrule by the non-Congress parties took the state of Uttar Pradesh backwards. He said that during the last 22 years, the cycle rolled on and the elephant fattened on the money of the people while development took a back seat.
He said that time had come for a change and he wanted Uttar Pradesh to regain its lost glory and find its rightful place among the most developed states of the country.
“I have not come here to win elections but to change the state. You must vote for the Congress so that you have your own government – a government that understands you and your welfare and works for your future,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi said that the state of U.P is crushed between the punctured cycle and the money eating elephant. “We need a change now. We need a Government of aam aadmi. Only Congress can provide it. So stand up, support and elect Congress” concluded Rahul Gandhi.
