Congress accuses Maya of ‘Elephant’ scam

Flaying Mayawati for planning to put statues of elephant (her party election symbol) all over the state at the cost of public money, Congress (I) has said instead of attending to the issues of the people she is foisting elephant scam on the state exchequer. In place of spending public money on welfare schemes, she is squandering the same in the name of stone elephants, said Congress (I). She cannot take excuse of lack of funds for development. If that was true then how has she got money to spend on stone statues, said Congress (I). The cost of each statue of elephant is somewhere between Rs 70 to 90 lakhs. Since elephant is election symbol of Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party, she ought to have avoided doing this. Court has also issued a notice on this. Congress (I) said Mayawati does not care for any thing except maya by any means.
