Accusing Mayawati of rampant corruption in her government, Congress (I) has said she indulged in multi-crore Taj Corridor. CBI is investigating into the Taj Corridor scam. During probe it came out that total income of Mayawati during the period was only Rs 1.1 crore while balance in her bank account was 2.5 crore and total value of her property was around Rs 15 crore. To escape arrest she managed to secure stay order from the court. Highlighting that she is more interested in money making than providing good governance, Rahul Gandhi said she is enriching herself at the cost of the people and the state. To end this corrupt it is necessary to oust her from power, he further said. He appealed the people this time to vote for Congress (I) and promised that it would provide corruption-free, transparent and responsive government.
