India is a democratic, secular and socialist country. Every person and community is free to practice and propagate its religion without let or hindrance. But BJP and its sister outfits like Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parisahd (VHP) do not believe in secular principles. These organizations have been advocating Hindutva and domination of majority community over all other communities. They have been intolerable towards other minority communities. In Gujarat Hindutava activist have been giving threats to poor Muslims to convert to Hinduism. However, in Orissa work of charity and education undertaken by Christian missionaries is not being tolerated by Hindutava elements. Christian missionaries have been attacked and killed in the past. Killers disappeared and became untraceable because of inaction on the part of administration. Such mis-happenings are worrisome for other minority communities which believe that Hindutava elements supported by BJP might also harm them.
