Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has accused Mayawati for running the most corrupt government in the country. As a result funds sent by Centre for welfare of poor have been looted by corrupt ministers, legislators and officials For instance, under Janani Surksha Yojana (JSY) - a centrally financed scheme - Rs 1,400 is given to a mother belonging to BPL category for having an institutional delivery. But due to rampant corrupt in Mayawati government there are glaring cases where these funds have been pocket by corrupt means instead of spending on needy people. For instance, Neelam (26), resident of Tarwa Mahant village of Shravasti, has been shown in records as having delivered babies on three days in a row i.e. October 27, 28 and 29, 2010. On spot verification, only one Neelam, wife of Rajendra, was found, who delivered a baby on October 27, 2010 Congress (I) said this speaks the extent of corruption in Mayawati government.
